My Background

Ed has more than 40 years working on the front-line of oil, gas, and environmental and safety law, most as corporate counsel with three multi-national industry giants: Shell, Citgo, and Marathon Oil (and their numerous subsidiaries). He earned roles of increasing responsibility, complexity, risk management and accountability by integrating legal savvy with the ability to retain and lead teams of lawyers on mission-critical engagements within the limits of lean budgets and urgent deadlines. He counsels clients to do well by doing what's right.
He received his BA from Niagara University (Magna Cum Laude), and his law degree with Honors from the University of Arkansas, where he was an officer with the Arkansas Law Review. The first ten years of his career were spent learning oil, gas and mining law and the industry, with the next thirty-one years of his practice saturated with full-time environmental and safety law engaged in on a daily basis.
Ed works on a retainer basis with a limited number of clients requiring his special areas of expertise to meet the strategic challenges of safety and responsible growth in a time of regulatory turmoil and uncertain legislative activity.
Ed has a nationwide federal practice and is licensed to practice law in Texas, Oklahoma & Louisiana, and several federal courts.
